EOS-HD has responded very positively to a rumour that the A77 will shoot 1080p video at 60/50/25/24fps. They also are positive about the prospects the A77 sensor is designed to cope well with video and the 16-50mm f2.8 is video optimised.
If all that’s true, it would make the A77 an attractive proposition for anybody who needs a video-enabled stills camera, something Sony ought to be capable of given their respective expertise in video.
