From a discussion in a helpful comment, I’ve become aware of one feature Sony are missing that’s offered by some of their competitors – the ability to switch between PAL and NTSC video. I’m told Canon offer this but Sony haven’t so far.
It’s hard to see why you wouldn’t offer this as an option, unless you think your customers are all consumers who wouldn’t know how, why or when to change this. Or unless you thought nobody moved from one part of the world to another, or spent significant amounts of time in different countries. It seems to me that the average A77 buyer will know about such technical matters as PAL/NTSC and given how much they’ve spent on a camera, might have the means to move about a bit too. Come on Sony, fix this one.
